Table du Marché: illuminated signage in North Finchley
A bespoke illuminated restaurant sign for Table du Marché in North Finchley, London, combining its established gold-and-grey identity with LED lighting.
The project at a glance.
The brief: Replace the restaurant sign while keeping the existing logo, colours and character.
Sign construction: A fret-cut tray holds opal acrylic behind the cut-out lettering and logo.
Gold after dark: Mactac translucent gold vinyl colours the illuminated areas, with LEDs behind the acrylic to light the sign.
Installation access: The existing awning restricted access, so it was removed to fit the new tray, then serviced, cleaned and refitted.
The finished frontage: The replacement sign brings the familiar restaurant identity into both its daytime and evening presentation.
How can gold lettering be illuminated?
Here, translucent gold vinyl was applied over opal acrylic, with LEDs behind it. The acrylic diffuses the light and the film gives the illuminated lettering its gold colour.
