An 11-metre exterior sign and a separate entrance sign for Redhill Aerodrome in Surrey, with high-level installation planned around an active site.
The project at a glance.
The brief: Deliver building identification after a long-standing signage project had failed to progress.
Main sign: An 11m-wide printed aluminium tray sign, installed approximately 10m above ground level.
Entrance identification: A separate 1.5m sign provides a ground-level marker for arrivals.
Exterior finish: Printed aluminium trays with a protective laminate were specified for the outdoor installation.
Access and preparation: Traffic management made space for the access equipment. Risk assessments, method statements, insurance and operator licences were submitted for approval before installation.
What made this high-level sign installation different?
The working aerodrome and road beside the building shaped the installation plan. Access equipment, traffic management and site documentation had to be organised before the sign could be fitted.
