Bharani Health Hub: building signage in Slough

Three sets of built-up stainless steel letters for Bharani Health Hub in Slough, each sized and coloured for a different building elevation and approach.

Blue built-up stainless steel lettering on Bharani Health Hub in Slough

The project at a glance.

  • The brief: Make the healthcare building identifiable from the High Street, the opposite approach and rear access.
  • Site conditions: Forecourt structures, a tree and angled views affected how the front signs could be seen. Letter height and contrast were key decisions.
  • Front lettering: The main sign spans 12.6m with 800mm capital letters; the second spans 8.576m with 544mm capitals. Both use blue lettering against grey cladding.
  • Rear lettering: An approximately 3.5m white sign contrasts with the blue rear cladding for closer viewing.
  • Construction: Non-illuminated, powder-coated stainless steel letters with 60mm returns and 10mm Foamex backing.
  • The result: Three individual specifications give each approach its own clearly placed building identity.

Why use different letter sizes and colours on one building?

Each elevation is viewed from a different distance and angle. At Bharani, blue letters contrast with grey cladding at the front, while white letters stand out against the blue rear elevation.
